Ray of Hope
Increasing Access to Care.
Creating Opportunity to Grow
In Guatemala, many children with disabilities go months—or even years—without a diagnosis or therapy. Specialists are few, travel is costly, and stigma leaves families on their own.
Ray of Hope closes that gap with consistent therapy, medication support, and home visits—care that meets children where they live and keeps them moving forward. Your gift helps ensure the next child doesn’t have to wait.

When Disability Meets Isolation
In Guatemala, one in ten people lives with a disability, and nearly a third of homes include someone who does. But for most families—especially in remote or impoverished communities—there is no therapy, no specialist, and no clear path forward.
Behind Every Diagnosis
is a Child
—created by God and worthy of care.
In places where disability often means isolation, Ray of Hope walks with families to bring what they could never access alone:
therapy to build strength, exams to seek answers, medication to manage seizures, and support that lifts the whole household.
We do this not out of charity, but because God first saw us—and calls us to see and serve others in His name.

We Fill Gaps
Many families in our program hadn't participated in therapy before. They couldn’t afford medication. Some had been turned away from clinics more than once.
We step in where the system fails. Ray of Hope brings the care they’ve gone without: exams, home visits, therapy, and support that doesn’t stop when you can’t pay. This is where mercy belongs.

Juan's Story - a Fight for Life
Some children in Guatemala never make it to a doctor in time.
We had already lost one child in our program to severe malnutrition—the hospital said, “It’s too late.”
Then came a little boy we’ll call Juan. He was four, dangerously underweight, and too weak to stand. The hospital said he wouldn’t survive the night—and they didn’t have the medication he needed.
But his mother called us.
Our staff nurse found the medicine. When the hospital refused to run a critical exam, our team paid for it and arranged an ambulance to take Juan across town. The test revealed an easily treatable infection. With care and a few basic medicines, Juan began to heal.
Juan didn’t need a miracle—he needed someone to step in.
That’s what your support makes possible. You help bring doctors, nurses, and therapists into places that would otherwise go without. You create space for symptoms to be taken seriously, for stories to be heard, and for care to begin with compassion.
Every exam, every conversation, every prescription begins with someone being seen—and someone like you making sure they are.
Be Part Of Their Story
The needs are deep. The work is slow. Every gift, every prayer, and every yes helps us serve children who have nowhere else to turn. We also welcome professionals with a heart to serve — if you're interested in bringing your skills to this work, email us.
Your gift brings therapy, medication, and hands-on care to children with disabilities—care they wouldn’t receive without it.
