When Jesus Speaks Your Language

When Jesus Speaks Your Language

That changed in 2017 with the release of The Jesus Film in Eastern K’iche’—the first and only film ever made in their heart language. And now, through Reel Joy, it’s being shown across the region.

In classrooms where students struggle to read and where spiritual understanding is clouded by folklore or fear, the story of Jesus is suddenly alive—clear, personal, and real.

“He speaks like my grandfather,” one child whispered.
“I didn’t know Jesus was kind.”

This isn’t just a movie. It’s a moment of encounter—where the Gospel becomes not just something told, but something felt.

Through Reel Joy, we’ve added more: The Jesus Film for Children, Magdalena (a devotional journey for women), and My Last Day (an animated short that tells the story of the cross). Each film speaks to a different need, but they all carry the same message: you are seen, known, and loved. For many children in Joyabaj, that message has never been clearer.

Help us bring these films to every school. Say Yes to Reel Joy.
